EMR/Spark Infrastructure & Memory-Optimization Engineers
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite)
Rate: $60/hr C2C. (we need contractors only this is 3 months project with possible extension)
Infrastructure-level counterpart to track 4. Tunes the cluster rather than the code: instance-family right-sizing (e.g., moving from memory-heavy R-family to compute C-family instances), YARN/executor memory sizing, dynamic allocation, cluster topology, and memory-overhead settings.
Preferred extras across all tracks (differentiators for our profiles): Amazon internal tooling exposure (MCM, CDK, CargoBrazil, Smithy), Graviton/ARM64 experience, AI coding-agent experience, prior fleet-scale cost-optimization programs, and cross-archetype knowledge (e.g., a JVM engineer who also knows EKS).
