Job Title: Network Security Engineer with Strong Palo Alto and Cisco Experience

Location: Annapolis, MD

Work Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: 5 Years

Rate: $60/Hr. on C2C
Visa: H1 and USC
Client: StackNexus and State of Maryland

Mandatory Certifications (Active)

Qualifications

Associate Degree (IT or related field preferred)
10+ years of CONUS experience in networking & network security (preferred)
CCNP (Enterprise/Security) and PCNSE preferred (active or expired within 3 years acceptable)

Key Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and implement secure data and network security solutions
Lead or support migration from legacy security platforms to next-gen technologies
Perform project-based design, installation, and troubleshooting
Develop HLD/LLD, diagrams, SOPs, and manage implementation to acceptance
Support capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization
Mentor engineers and assist in resolving critical security incidents
Lead weekly status calls and produce project status reports
Follow and enforce change management and security best practices

Required Technical Experience

Palo Alto NGFW (Policies, IPS/IDS, VPNs, TLS/SSL Inspection, Content Filtering, DLP)
Cisco Switching, Routing & Wireless (4+ years)
Cisco ISE / NAC / 802.1X
Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
Micro-segmentation in Enterprise Data Centers
Panorama & SolarWinds for centralized management
PKI / Certificate Management
Packet Analysis: Wireshark, Riverbed, taps
Vulnerability Tools: Nessus, NMAP
Cloud-based networking & security exposure

What We're Looking For

Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers
Strong communication & presentation skills
Proven experience producing technical documentation
Comfortable with in-person interviews and onsite work
Must pass a clean background check
