Job Title               : Platform Engineer

Location               : Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)

Duration              : 12+ months

 

Job Summary:

The Platform Engineer III will be part of the Enterprise Modernization IT Observability and Monitoring Team supporting over 200 enterprise applications, including Internet and Mobile Banking, ACE, FNA, IVR, and Open Consumer platforms. The engineer will help implement monitoring solutions and drive observability for reliable, resilient digital platforms.

Must-Have:

  • Dynatrace
  • Splunk
  • AWS
  • Kubernetes
  • OpenShift
  • Platform Engineering

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies using Dynatrace and Splunk
  • Create custom dashboards, monitors, and synthetic transactions (e.g., heat maps)
  • Analyze performance, capacity, and availability data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Make architectural recommendations to enhance application and environment resiliency
  • Support active-active architecture across multiple environments
  • Act as Level 2 Support, working closely with Level 1, Agile/DevOps, and Infrastructure teams
  • Interpret business needs and manage multiple technical initiatives in parallel
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance tech resilience and digital performance monitoring

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8–10 years in application support, performance monitoring, and incident management
  • Deep expertise with Dynatrace and Splunk (alerts, dashboards, problem analysis)
  • Experience with web and app servers (Apache/IHS, WebSphere/Tomcat) on AIX or Linux
  • Strong understanding of application resiliency and cloud-ready architecture
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, capacity planning, and availability tracking

 

Nice-to-Have:

  • Amazon CloudFront
  • Amazon CloudWatch
  • Python / Jython / Unix Shell
  • WebSphere (WSADMIN scripting)
  • GitHub / Jenkins

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Agile and ITIL-based enterprise environments
  • Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native infrastructure
