Title: API Developer Location: 100 Gold Street, New York, NY 10038 Duration: 4 years (48 months) – 35 hrs/week SCOPE OF SERVICES: The Department of Housing Preservation and Development has a need for an API Developer who will be responsible in handling tasks related to Designing and programming APIs and debugging websites or applications. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the following skills. - Contractor shall provide scalable and extensible architecture that can be maintained by resources over the long term.
- Develop case management solution.
- Write APIs to integrate with other internal systems.
- Design specification shall meet technical architectural standards of application development through SOA, API, and Micro services.
- Identify and describe the most cost-effective solution, including but not limited to security design specification, interface design specification, etc.
- Application assets developed as part of the engagement shall comply with the important principles: o Tiered approach for application development
- o Reusability of loosely coupled application components.
- o Consistent and standard way of interacting with Databases based on a data model.
- o Implement Security algorithms to ensure mitigation of vulnerability in the source code.
Stakeholder Coordination: Contractor shall coordinate with Technical staff on infrastructure requests, access to shared environments, configuration of global settings and related matters. - Develop Salesforce APIs using Apex language and consume them from on-premises .NET applications, as well as from database scripts such as Oracle Stored Procedures.
- API Developer proficient in Python and AWS.
- Should be familiar with API management tools like MuleSoft, WSO2, Microsoft Azure API Mgmt., Postman etc.
- Considering the integration between On prem systems and Salesforce Data, incumbent should have cross platform development experience.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: -Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. - 3-5+ years of API development experience.
- Extensive experience with various web services: SOAP, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, REST, Web API, and JPA.
- Proficiency in Java, JSP, XML, XSL, and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of HTTP, REST, and JSON.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing REST APIs.
- Proficiency in server-side languages such as C# and VB.NET.
- Hands-on experience in MVC-based web application development using Visual Studio.
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and testing Web API projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of API consumption across server-side, client-side, and database languages.
- Practical experience in implementing RESTful web services.
- Knowledgeable about Restful API design patterns.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: - Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. - Hands-on experience with various application servers such as Tomcat and WebLogic
- Knowledge of implementing JMS messaging services.
