Job Description
Critical Responsibilities:
- Links development with design
- Participate in all aspects of the agile engineering practices. Create link between development processes and (lead) product owners on an operational level
- Use agile engineering practices, various software and Web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance the experience
- Work with end users/other team members to gain a solid understanding of requirements and document as needed
- Create interfaces between micro-services and graphical surface
- Develops (codes) the central software components (e.g., algorithms) that power the application
- Analyses data using latest tools to extract insights
- Develop new features to the front-end user-interfaces/develops new front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, Angular, etc.
- Develop visually appealing front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code
- Develop back-end applications using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, .Net, etc. as needed to support the user interface
- Create well-designed test cases and be familiar with testing guidelines/best practices
- Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
- Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end
- Ensure cross-platform optimization for developed applications
- Explore/introduce innovative development techniques/technologies
- Stay current/provide insight on cutting edge software approaches/architectures
- Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions
- Work on integration issues/determine the integration approach. Coordinate with other areas for integration architecture solutions
- Architect/provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed/scale
- Collaborate with global team located across multiple time zones and in the newly formed Digital Innovation Lab
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related degree
- 5+ years of software development experience, with automated processes as a full stack developer/engineer, preferably with Lab experience.
- Knowledge of agile software development process
- Excellent understanding of latest development technologies
- Infrastructure knowledge, Background in architecture and protocols
- Experiences with code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications and application security
- Expert in pair programming, continuous integration, test-driven development and incremental design
- Experience with big data, relational and NoSQL data stores
- Developing API and modern back-end systems
- Expertise in working with functional programming languages and highly distributed, scalable and resilient micro-service landscapes while remaining hands on
- Experienced in maintaining the life cycle of high-scale public and internal APIs, incl. design, implementation and depreciation
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills
- Unit/integration testing experience. Experienced with various testing strategies of distributed systems
- DevOps and CI/CD experience
- Good coding skills and experienced in implementing high-scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS)
- Experience designing/integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs
- Experience with Machine Learning and/or data analytics
- Expertise with essential front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and UI/UX design
- Expertise with third-party libraries like jQuery, LESS, Angular and ReactJS
- Knowledge of multiple back-end\server-side programming languages like Java, Python, Ruby, .Net etc.
- Knowledge about security concerns at each layer of the stack and data protection
- Familiarity with any of the common stacks: LAMP, LEMP, MERN, MEAN, Django and Ruby on Rails
- Experience in implementing high-scale modern cloud architectures preferably in AWS using serverless components, micro-services, and cloud-based container platforms (IaaS/PaaS)
- A proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms like varnish, Memcached, Redis is a plus
- Experience building web and mobile applications, plus bots is a plus
- Prior experience in a Digital Innovation Lab is a plus (Lab mindset)
