Urgent need - Senior C# developer (Strong financial/Hedge fund industry background muist) - Long term contract.

Location: NYC or Chicago, IL (Remote to begin. Will be onsite around June/July)

Senior C# .Net with financial or Hedge fund industry background (Must) – Must have post trade life cycle experience.

Rate: $600/day corp 2 corp or $550/day on W2 all inclusive no benefits.

 

 

This role is with a Asset Management firm based out of NYC or Chicago, IL through a vendor. We can do C2C or H1 transfers, USC and GC.

The role will start remote but will go onsite post covid in about 5-6 months. We need people local to NY or Chicago as they can sit in any of these locations

Financial experience will be a must and understanding of post trade life cycle ideal

Some Cloud experience will be a huge plus (AWS, GCP or Azure)

I might look at resume coming from large financial companies & folks from Investment Banks, Hedge funds or Asset Management firms

 

As an Operations Technology Engineer, you will be responsible for playing a key role in designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the firm's critical trade management system. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the team lead and manager, as he/she works either independently or within a team. He/she should be self-motivated and have a deep passion for technology with concentrated focus on the .NET based technologies with a heavy focus on distributed systems and high volume processing.

 

The person in this role must have a strong understanding of software lifecycle and design of multi-tier/distributed systems.  In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, possess a strong ability to work independently or as a team member and a working knowledge of market structure and trading systems in domestic and international markets.

 

The candidate must be able to explain and discuss complex ideas clearly and effectively to a variety of different audiences, with different degrees of technical prowess. A strong desire to learn and gain exposure to the business side of a trading operation with focus on post-trade processing related aspects of the business is critical to success in this position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         System design and enhancements on multithreaded, high volume trade flow processing

·         Capable of making independent decisions while mitigating risk

·         Demonstrate an ownership mentality in all aspects of the firm's trade management systems

·         Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multi-task between second-line support and strategic development responsibilities.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to effectively represent our team and communicate with the users, we are expecting that you will have the below qualifications:   

 

·         5+ years of experience in a formal enterprise-level development environment in C#.

·         Strong experience in multi-threaded programming and object oriented design

·         Strong experience building connected, service-oriented applications

·         Experience and familiarity with an enterprise messaging systems

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Experience in Dev/Ops (JIRA / Git / Team City / Octopus Deploy)

·         Ability to communicate via producing documentation at all levels, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating systems knowledge with technology skills

 

It's a plus if you have prior experience in any of the following:

  • Agile software development concepts
  • Behavior and test-driven development
  • Full stack software development, including Web and mobile frameworks such as React JS, Angular
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol
  • MS SQL
  • Familiarity with US and International Equity, Fixed Income and Commodity markets

·         Understanding of post-trade lifecycle
