What can you expect?
The Java Application Developer is responsible for developing complex custom software solutions to support Client business requirements. In this role you will:
- Implement business logic from business requirements and assist in designing applications.
- Development of key insurance systems on new technical stack
- Focus on quality code, automation and good practices
- Contribute to and be part of the Development Center Of Excellence in driving up the quality and value of software development and delivery across the enterprise
- Proactively contribute to our system architecture and stack design, toolset, agile and DevOps approach
- Collaborate closely with Agile Dev team members, Product Owners and business users to deliver business value
- Design, develop and test software solutions and review code quality
- Automate build, test (unit, functional and performance) and deployment of the code part of the CI/CD pipeline by working closely with Platform Engineer
We will count on you to:
- Responsible for complex application design and development using various software technologies
- Participate in technical design and review along with Senior Technical Specialist
- Independently writes complex software programs based on design patterns
- Creates unit test cases and participates in unit tests and systems tests as needed
- Integrates technical components into working application
- Works closely with Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure code quality
- Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them
- Resolves customer issues with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
- Understands Client business processes
- Strong System analysis and debugging skills
- Manage the lifecycle of the solutions delivery process from Design to System testing
- Communicate with Business Analyst, the Project managers and tech team on the project
- Create and maintain design documents as a part of software delivery lifecycle process
- Responsible for reviewing code and Enforce coding standards, review code and participates in tollgate reviews
What you need to have:
- Degree in Computer Science or related field or have relevant experience
- 5+ years of development experience in Agile projects with Java, JavaScript
- Have experience or working knowledge of the following:
- Java (Spring, Hibernate, Maven, REST API's) JSON, XML
- JavaScript with Node, Angular, MEAN Stack
- No-code/low-code platforms: Unqork
- Microservices such as Spring Boot, API Gateway (Apigee), Scaling techniques
- Agile – TDD (Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma) BDD (Cucumber) Pair Programming, Scrum/Kanban
- DevOps – BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), Selenium, SonarQube, Nexus, Docker, Swarm, Splunk, Jmeter
- Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle
- Cloud – AWS, Azure, Private Cloud
- OS – Linux, VM Architectures
- Self-starter
What makes you stand out:
