Job Description:
UX/UI Designer responsible for producing user-centric website designs for large document-heavy website. Work closely with business users and our web team to develop and test user-centered designs for web.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create wireframes, prototypes and mock-ups/visual specs for UI developers.
  • Collaborate with web developers and managers to ensure that your solutions excel in every possible way.
  • Identify and implement industry standards and technologies in the interface design and user experience communities.
  • Translate concepts into user journeys, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences for web and mobile experiences.
  • Provide insight and suggestions in website meetings and assist in implementing action items discussed when necessary.
  • Conduct usability testing through live sessions, web-based polling, and A/B testing.
  • Define design standards for web and mobile to ensure we build well, consistently, and effectively.
  • Ability to implement UX design standards in Drupal highly desirable.
  • Responsible for helping formulate an effective, responsive design.
Requirements & General Skills:
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Expertise in the distinct platform differences between Desktop, mobile web, iOS and Android. and the ability to implement/design accordingly.
  • Knowledge of responsive design, design systems (e.g., Material), browser-compatibility, touch and hand-held devices, and bootstrap.
  • Experience in implementing best practices for website in the government space, as well as strong knowledge of information architecture, usability principles/ techniques and design systems.
  • Ability to implement WCAG 2.0 accessibility requirements.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud, especially with Illustrator, and Photoshop, to create illustrations, optimize images, and create SVG's is necessary.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to development and stakeholders
  • Ability to simplify and break down the complex.
  • Goal oriented and creative personality with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and follow up on incomplete tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to the details.
  • Willingness to take initiative to propose and implement new ideas as well as complete any current projects.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and motivation skills, and ability to interact appropriately with senior level colleagues and business users.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience.
  • 2-3 years of successful client facing experience.
  • BA/BS in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Meaningful experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and possess a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A record of working directly with customers to define specific user problems and design solutions for specific roles, e.g., Administrators, Managers, etc.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, Javascript and CSS3 capabilities for easy design handoff.
  • Extensive experience of designing responsive, accessible and SEOf riendly websites.
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience with, or ability to learn, Google Analytics
  • Experience with all the tools and disciplines of UX Design: interactive prototypes, visual design mockups, journey maps and workflows, user-testing methods, persona development
