Java Software Engineer – Robotics & Automation- REMOTE
Max Pay Rate: $70/hr on (C2C or 1099)

Need Java Backend Engineers with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven messaging experience.
The strongest candidates have built production applications that process high volumes of transactions across multiple systems.

Our Airline client is seeking a Java Software Engineer to develop backend automation systems supporting airline operations and passenger experiences.
This role focuses on building scalable microservices, APIs, and event-driven applications that automate complex business processes.
This is a backend software engineering role, NOT traditional robotics or RPA.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build scalable microservices and REST APIs that integrate with enterprise systems.
Develop event-driven applications using messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
Design reliable automation workflows that handle high transaction volumes.
Implement error handling, retries, and safeguards against duplicate transactions.
Troubleshoot production issues using application logs, monitoring tools, and SQL.

Required Technical Skills

Java and Spring Boot
Microservices architecture
REST API development and integrations
Event-driven architecture and messaging systems
SQL and relational databases
Experience troubleshooting production applications
Reliability: Implemented retry mechanisms, error handling, or duplicate-message prevention

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms
Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus - Messaging Platforms
Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
Snowflake
Airline, travel, banking, payments, or high-volume transactional systems

Priority 1: Java Backend Development (MUST HAVE)
Priority 2: Event-Driven Architecture (HIGH PRIORITY)
Priority 3: Distributed Systems & Integrations
Priority 4: Production Reliability
Find candidates who have supported production applications and resolved complex technical issues.
Look for: Production support, debugging, error handling, retry mechanisms, idempotency, logging, monitoring.
