Job Description
We are looking for an experienced WebSmart Developer with strong expertise in IBM i (AS400) application development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing and supporting WebSmart applications, working with DB2/400, SQL, and backend business logic in enterprise environments.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of application development and support experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with WebSmart Development.
- Solid experience in IBM i / AS400 environment.
- Strong knowledge of DB2/400 and SQL.
- Experience developing backend business logic and database-driven applications.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with RPG, RPGLE, or CL.
- Exposure to PHP-based WebSmart development.
- Knowledge of Web Services, REST APIs, and System Integrations.
- Experience with application modernization or migration projects.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain WebSmart applications on IBM i / AS400.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and support backend logic and database-driven applications.
- Work with DB2/400, SQL, and IBM i objects.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform defect resolution.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and release support.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams.
- Maintain technical documentation and support application enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in WebSmart / IBM i (AS400) application development.
