Role: DevOps Lead Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid) Duration: 12+ Months Must have: • 7 Yrs of Exp – AWS, Devops, Cloud, Azure • 7 Yrs of Exp – Container, Kubernetes • 5 Yrs of Exp in IT GitLab CI/CD, IAC, Terraform Requirements: • Strong experience with GitLab for source control and CI/CD, and Databricks Workflows for pipeline orchestration, release management, and scheduling. • Hands-on expertise in designing CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications and enterprise data platforms, including DABs for multi-environment deployment and gated promotion. • Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep). • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, networking, identity management, and security best practices. • Experience managing deployments for Azure Databricks and Snowflake environments. Working knowledge of Databricks cluster policies, autoscaling configuration, and DBU cost/FinOps reporting. • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred. • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting using Grafana and Databricks SQL dashboards, with PagerDuty and Teams for tiered incident alerting, or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of Git branching strategies, release governance, environment management, and change control. • Familiarity with enterprise authentication, RBAC, Key Vault, secrets management, and certificate management, including Unity Catalog governance-as-code (RBAC provisioning, PII/CPNI tagging, and static/dynamic masking automation). • AI & Automation Expectations Leverage AI-assisted DevOps tools to improve pipeline creation, code reviews, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational efficiency. • Build intelligent automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment validation, monitoring, incident response, and operational support. • Implement automated compliance, security validation, and self-service deployment capabilities. • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI-powered DevOps practices that improve engineering productivity and platform reliability. • Leadership Expectations Define and drive the DevOps roadmap aligned with business and engineering objectives. • Establish engineering standards, governance, and automation-first practices across the program. Lead release planning, environment management, and production readiness activities. • Mentor and coach DevOps engineers while fostering collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams. • Proactively identify operational risks, reliability concerns, security gaps, and scalability challenges, and implement mitigation strategies. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 8 to 12+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering, with at least 2 to 3 years in a technical leadership role. • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud modernization and data platform transformation programs. • Azure certifications (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect) are preferred. • Knowledge of Snowflake administration and data platform deployment practices is an advantage. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $50 - 70/hr.
