This is an onsite role supporting multiple Wisk facilities:

  • Mountain View, CA
  • Hollister, CA
  • Fremont, CA

Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel between approved California work sites.

 

About the Client

Client is an advanced aerospace company developing autonomous electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban air mobility. Backed by Boeing and Kitty Hawk, Wisk is building the future of autonomous air taxi transportation.

 

Position Overview

Client is seeking a highly skilled Network Design & Configuration Engineer to support the Remote Supervision Segment (RSS) program. This role focuses on designing, validating, and managing highly available network infrastructures that support autonomous aircraft operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network architecture, routing and switching, firewall configuration, integration labs, and multi-site connectivity environments. This position requires hands-on engineering expertise and the ability to work across systems engineering, software engineering, and supplier integration teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate ground system network designs and develop detailed architecture specifications.
  • Design and implement highly available network architectures.
  • Define network observability and monitoring requirements.
  • Build, configure, and manage integration lab network environments.
  • Configure and maintain routing and firewall policies supporting lab and satellite communication testing.
  • Support ground system integration activities and supplier connectivity.
  • Ensure network designs comply with safety and development assurance standards.
  • Develop installation layouts, operational procedures, and configuration documentation.
  • Define service interface agreements and return-to-service procedures.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, and integration engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience designing and supporting production network environments.
  • Strong expertise in High Availability (HA) network architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with routing and firewall configuration.
  • Strong Routing & Switching experience, preferably on Juniper platforms.
  • Experience supporting integration labs, testing environments, or prototype systems.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • EVPN-VXLAN
    • MPLS
  • Experience supporting multi-site enterprise networks and partner connectivity ecosystems.
  • Strong configuration management and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace, aviation, or safety-critical systems experience.
  • Experience with supplier-integrated network architectures.
  • Knowledge of network automation and observability platforms.
  • Experience with satellite communications (SATCOM) or test-range connectivity environments.

Soft Skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Positive team-oriented attitude.
