Integration Developer – IBM API Connect Lead
Duration: 6+ month contract (potential to extend)
PR: $55/hr. on C2C
Location: 100% onsite in Lansing, MI 5 days per week – Relocation is okay
Any visa except H1B
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise API and integration solutions
- Design, develop, and manage APIs using IBM API Connect (APIC) and related middleware technologies
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and implementation plans
- Develop scalable REST and SOAP services aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Deploy and manage API solutions within AWS and Kubernetes-based environments
- Configure and support IBM DataPower Gateway and API Gateway policies
- Implement and support API security standards including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect
- JWT
- TLS
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, application teams, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end integration solutions
- Provide technical leadership through:
- Design guidance
- Code reviews
- Troubleshooting support
- Mentorship of junior developers
- Support release planning, deployment activities, defect resolution, and production support
- Ensure adherence to API governance, logging, monitoring, performance, and operational best practices
- d track tasks/work items within Azure DevOps (ADO) as directed
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in integration, API development, and middleware technologies
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC)
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical integration solutions
- Strong experience designing and developing REST and SOAP services
- Strong understanding of API security standards including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect
- JWT
- TLS
- Experience with:
- JSON
- XML
- XSLT
- API design best practices
- Hands-on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway
- Experience deploying and managing APIs within cloud and containerized environments
