Location- 100% Remote Role Summary- UST is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support enterprise healthcare initiatives for a leading U.S. payer. This role focuses on enabling organizational decision-making by transforming healthcare operational data into concise, actionable BI and data-driven solutions. The role requires deep expertise in business analysis, data analysis, and enterprise data warehousing (EDW), along with the ability to translate complex business processes into structured solutions that align with business strategy and support reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems, processes, and user needs to define BI-centric solutions. Document business requirements, define scope, and establish objectives aligned with organizational strategies. Translate business needs, processes, and procedures into structured documentation consumable by solution architects and technical teams. Propose and evaluate alternative business and data solutions where appropriate Perform data analysis using strong SQL query skills and apply expertise in relational databases and reporting Understand and support how business users leverage data for decision-making Develop and implement process flows and process control mechanisms for project execution and governance. Maintain a thorough understanding of client organizational structure and business processes, and apply this knowledge to project delivery. Collaborate closely with architects, developers, QA analysts, and other technology teams to deliver solutions Employ a collaborative approach when working with cross-functional technical and business teams. Lead and mentor Business Analysts, and guide development teams during project implementation. Demonstrate ability to plan, prioritize, and accomplish project goals effectively. Track, document, and communicate project status, risks, issues, and obstacles clearly through appropriate leadership channels. Develop BI documentation artifacts, including report mock-ups, system specifications, and test plans aligned with standards Identify, document, and communicate opportunities for enhancement and improvement across BI solutions and business processes. Develop and manage client/customer relationships, both internal and external. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate solution options in collaboration with project management. Work under limited supervision, demonstrating ownership and accountability for deliverables Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning, industry engagement, and professional development. Contribute to overall team success by supporting organizational goals and broader initiatives Support the achievement of organizational vision and strategic objectives Perform other duties as required. Required Skills- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in BI, data, or analytics environments 5+ years of experience in the healthcare domain (payer preferred) Strong expertise in SQL and query languages for data analysis Strong understanding of relational database concepts (RDBMS, data structures, joins, normalization) Experience with data warehousing (EDW) and reporting/visualization platforms. Proven experience in requirements gathering, functional specifications, system documentation, and testing (including UAT) Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs and work with technical teams to deliver EDW-centric solutions. Mandatory Experience: Hands-on experience in technology modernization initiatives (legacy to modern data/platform transformations). Experience working with CRM platforms and CareAxis (or similar care management/CRM solutions) Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional environment. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services (Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, etc In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $50 – $60/hr.
