Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Duration : 12+ Months
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and improve tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management
- Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact
- Understand the build process and identifies bottleneck areas for improvement
- Demonstrate expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks. Implements Continuous Integration/Deployment build principles
- Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a software project
- Help businesses develop an overall strategy for deploying code. Contribute to planning and strategy with his/her ideas. Draw off experience in order to influence others
- Demonstrate experience with applying principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques.
- Be able to document procedures for building, deploying, change management, and support of processes Education Qualification Bachelor's Degree in with minimum years of experience 4 years
Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
- Able to assess code, build it, and run applications locally on his/her own (java, python preferred)
- Experience with creating and maintaining automated CD/CD/build tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory, Sonar
- Experience with systems and user management (Windows Server, Unix variants such as Rocky Linux) and management tools such as Ansible
- Experience with documentation management and ticketing systems such as Rally, Confluence, Service-Now, Box, etc.
- Experience with engagement and support of internal customers such as engineering groups, program management groups, other internal groups for the purposes of requirements gathering, solution development and roll-out, and adapting to internal technological changes/updates/improvements in processes
- Demonstrates competency of the intricacies, interactions, and dynamics in Agile teams. Guides new teams to adopt Agile, troubleshoot adoption efforts, and guides continuous improvement.
- Drives elimination of inefficiencies in coding and solutions process. Actively embraces new methods and practices that increase efficiency and effectiveness.

- Evaluates technology to drive features and roadmaps. Maps technology trends to internal vision. Differentiates buzzwords from value proposition. Embraces technology trends that drive excellence beyond traditional practices (e.g., Test automation in lieu of traditional QA practices).

- Conveys the value proposition for the company by assessing financial risks and gains of decisions and return on investment (ROI).
