Job Title : Senior Data Engineer – Workflow Orchestration (Airflow/Python)
Location : Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)
Duration : 12 Months
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Engineer with strong expertise in Apache Airflow and Python to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data workflows and services that power our business operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and optimized pipelines while contributing to broader engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Apache Airflow.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable Python code for workflow automation and data processing.
- Optimize, monitor, and troubleshoot Airflow DAGs to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to integrate data workflows with business requirements.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and propose improvements for data and workflow orchestration systems.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data or workflow orchestration.
- Proven expertise in Apache Airflow (designing and managing DAGs at scale).
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control).
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
- Exposure to full-stack development (frontend + backend), though not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data pipelines and workflow orchestration.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
