Job Description:

Demonstrated experience in the standard concepts, practices and deliverables related to Business Analysis in support of software development projects.

Individuals in this position have demonstrated experience in the standard concepts, practices, and deliverables related to Sr. Business Analysis in support of software development projects. Understands how to gather and document requirements. Has a working knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Some familiarity with the help of standard market Testing tools.

 

  • Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project.
  • Review vendor Statement of Works provides feedback and recommendations to the CIO.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Update project epics, user stories, and tasks in the Jira Project Management tool and provide summary reports for US DOE.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs for Phase 3 - Student and Staff data collection of Student Longitudinal Data Systems project.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders
  • Perform requirement analysis and document requirements
  • Translate business requirements into user stories for execution in agile delivery mode Manage competing resources and priorities.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate progressive leadership in the complete life cycle of software development in Agile and Waterfall methodologies and possess excellent written & oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst with QA Experience for a hybrid position based locally in Philadelphia. This role focuses on collecting and documenting requirements for new applications or enhancing existing ones. The position requires onsite presence for meetings and projects as necessary.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule meetings to gather, analyze, and document business and software requirements from stakeholders
  • Analyze business processes and translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories, use cases, functional specifications, and test cases
  • Communicate requirements clearly to developers, testers, and stakeholders
  • Create various diagrams such as process flows, state, activity, sequence, swim lanes, and wireframes
  • Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams
  • Conduct walkthroughs and user acceptance testing
  • Develop training documents, train users, and provide support post-release
  • Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure solutions align with business goals
  • Test applications, both functional and regression testing, and convert requirements into test cases

What You'll Need

  • Proficiency in SharePoint Online (Office 365), Microsoft Teams, GitLab or other Git repositories, JIRA
  • Experience with Balsamiq or other design tools, Visio
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with subject matter experts and communicate succinctly with software developers, business analysts, and testers
  • Experience working on teams of varying sizes on complex projects and demanding timelines
  • Ability to work independently on projects from start to finish
  • Demonstrated experience in creating training documents and training users
  • Ability to maintain professional composure while communicating clearly with stakeholders

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
