Job Title: Data Governance Lead
Location: New York City, NY
Duration: 6+ months with possible extension

Job Description:

We seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist with proven expertise
in implementing Microsoft Purview to lead enterprise-level data
governance initiatives within the investment banking sector. This role
requires a deep understanding of data governance frameworks,
regulatory compliance, and data quality management, with a strong
focus on hands-on Purview implementation and integration.



Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Purview for
enterprise data governance.

• Design and deploy data governance frameworks tailored to the
investment banking environment.

• Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and business
stakeholders to define metadata, data lineage, and data quality
standards.

• Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure Data Services, Power
BI, and other enterprise platforms.

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and financial industry regulations.

• Provide training and support on Purview capabilities and
best practices.

• Work onsite at the client's New York City office three days per week.



Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Purview
implementation in complex enterprise environments.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data
management, or related fields.

• Strong knowledge of investment banking data domains and
regulatory requirements.

• Expertise in data cataloging, classification, lineage, data
quality, and policy enforcement.

• Familiarity with AI/ML data integration and governance best practices.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.



Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with at least one full-scale Microsoft
Purview implementation.

• Proficiency with Azure Data Services, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric.

• Understanding of data privacy laws and risk management in
financial services.

• Experience working in hybrid environments with cross-functional teams.

• Relevant certifications such as:

• Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals

• Certifications in Data Governance, AI, or Azure
