Title: L3 Network Engineer (Riverbed) – USA (24x7 support-Shift)

Location: Dallas, TX or Redmond, WA

Primary Skills: Technical expertise and hands-on experience on Riverbed WAN optimization techniques to enhance application performance and data transfer efficiency across WAN.

 

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Riverbed Steelhead appliances (For e.g. CX, EX and DX models), Steelhead mobile, Steelhead interceptor etc.
  • Understanding of RiOS (Riverbed optimization System)
  • Ability to manage Steelhead in data centers, branch offices etc.
  • Proficiency in Riverbed's Optimization techniques – Data Deduplication (SDR), Data Compression (LZ), protocol optimization and transport streamlining
  • Configuring packet mode optimization, TCP and congestion control, QoS and Traffic Shaping
  • Application and protocol acceleration techniques
  • Configuring in-path rules & peering rules; setting up SteelHead interceptor
  • Integrating Steelhead with other network appliances like Cisco and Juniper FWs and routers
  • Familiarity with SteelCentral controller tool for centralized management and monitoring
  • Monitoring WAN performance using SteelCentral or management console
  • Log Analysis and reporting; Analyzing data reduction reports to quantify bandwidth savings.
  • Knowledge of Load Balancers, other WAN Optimizers and security devices is an additional advantage.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Framework concepts such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility for long working hours and readiness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts and weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication at all levels.
  • Ability to work alone as an individual contributor and as a participant in a team environment.

 

 

Preferred Certifications: RCSA-W; RCSP-W; RCPE

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining computer networks including switches, routers, WAPs, WLCs, WAN optimizers and load balancers
  • Installing and configuring network equipment.
  • Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance.
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues.
  • Implementing disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best-practice.
  • Trouble ticket updates and administration throughout the life of the ticket
  • Customer update through issue resolution for Escalated Issues
  • Make data driven decisions
  • Excellent analytical skills for troubleshooting.
  • Excellent in doing a RCA for customer network problems.
  • Assign/Monitor tickets in shift and make sure of SLA adherence
  • Contribute to MoMs, Shift Handovers, Daily shift summary reports and training documents
  • Responsible to coach and mentor associates on new process changes/updates

  • Preferred: Cisco, Juniper

 

 

Other Product skills (preferred):

  • LAN: Cisco switches & routers; Extreme, Avaya & Nortel switches
  • WLAN: Cisco, Aruba
  • Firewalls & Cisco: Fortinet, Juniper & Cisco
  • Load Balancer and DDI: NetScaler, F5 and Infoblox
