Overview
· The IBM DS8000 Storage and IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and performance optimization of our IBM DS8000 storage infrastructure and associated copy services.
· This role requires a strong understanding of storage technologies and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex storage issues.
Responsibilities
· Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of IBM DS8000 storage systems
· Manage and configure IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) for data replication and protection
· Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues
· Proactively identify and address potential storage performance bottlenecks
· Implement and maintain storage security policies and procedures
· Develop and maintain detailed storage documentation
· Participate in storage capacity planning and forecasting
· Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless storage integration
· Stay current with the latest IBM DS8000 and CSM technologies and best practices
Mandatory Skills
· Extensive experience administering IBM DS8000 storage systems (including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting)
· Deep understanding of IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) functionalities, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting of copy services
· Proficient in using IBM storage management tools and utilities
· Strong understanding of storage concepts, such as SAN, NAS, RAID, and virtualization
· Experience with storage networking technologies (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe)
Good to Have Skills
· Experience with other storage systems (e.g., NetApp, EMC)
· Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
· Experience with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage)
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
· 5+ years of experience administering IBM DS8000 storage systems
· 3+ years of experience working with IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM)
· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
