Role: Data Warehouse + Power BI Architect
Location: NYC (4 days/week onsite – no exceptions)
Duration: 6–12 months
Clearance: U.S. Citizen required
Relocation: Not permitted – must currently reside in the NYC area
Industry Experience: Must be currently working in the investment management or broader financial services sector
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication required
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business users to understand data/reporting needs
- Design, manage, and query SQL Server/Snowflake or similar relational databases
- Develop and optimize data ingestion and transformation processes
- Build and optimize Power BI solutions, including Paginated Reports and Report Builder
- Design and implement scalable reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries
- Write and tune complex DAX queries
- Translate user requirements into technical architecture
- Work across full development lifecycle including version control (JIRA, GIT)
Required Experience & Skills:
- 7+ years in data warehousing, BI, analytics, and reporting
- 3+ years in relational and OLAP/multi-dimensional data modeling
- Strong expertise with SQL Server and/or Snowflake
- Expertise in SQL query optimization and database design
- Hands-on experience with Power BI architecture and tooling
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues effectively
- Full project lifecycle experience
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with Power Query/Power Pivot
- Experience using Power BI Service
