Job Summary
- Client is seeking a skilled Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer IV to design, develop, and optimize enterprise database solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data architecture, business intelligence, and data engineering, with a strong background in AFS or Loan systems. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to lead meetings, and strong communication capabilities.
Must Have
- AFS or Loan Background Required
- Business Intelligence - Data Engineering
- Conceptual understanding of one or more of the following disciplines preferred big data technologies and distributions, metadata management products, commercial ETL tools, BI and reporting tools (visualization), messaging systems, data warehousing, SQL, Java (language and run time environment), major version control systems, continuous integration/delivery tools, infrastructure automation and virtualization tools, data testing, major cloud, or rest API design and development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 10–20 years in Business Intelligence & Data Engineering.
- Technical Expertise:
- AFS or Loan Systems Background (Required)
- DBT/Snowflake (4-5 years’ experience)
- SQL, Data Warehousing, ETL tools
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- REST API design & development
- Version control systems & CI/CD tools
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, efficient database solutions and data models.
- Evaluate business and system requirements to define data architecture strategies.
- Ensure database compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Oversee data migration from legacy systems to modern solutions.
- Optimize system performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, and feature enhancements.
- Collaborate with teams to implement BI and reporting tools for data visualization.
- Develop and maintain metadata management and ETL processes.
- Prepare detailed database design reports for management and executive teams.
- Provide training and support to team members on data-related best practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Analytical mindset
- Experience with DataStage, Dataiku
- Familiarity with AFS Level III or Vision systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of distributed computing, data security, and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of data mining, segmentation, and analytics.
