Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team in Jersey City, NJ on a 6 to 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a hands-on coder who enjoys working on the back end with strong knowledge of Oracle databases. You will initially focus on core coding responsibilities and gradually be involved in interface development and integration tasks as the project progresses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable Java code for enterprise-level applications.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle.
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement new features and enhancements.
- Debug and resolve technical issues related to Java applications and Oracle database performance.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal development processes.
- Support the transition from backend-heavy work to potential integration/interface development over time.
Must-Have Skills:
- Java Development (60%) – Solid experience in core Java and object-oriented programming.
- Oracle Database (40%) – Proficient in writing SQL queries, PL/SQL, and understanding of database design and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and agile methodologies.
- Experience in developing RESTful services or working with microservices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
