Job description:
As a quality assurance engineer at SiriusXM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital platform, which is akin to leading streaming services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, product managers, and quality assurance engineers to execute test strategies, identify defects, and drive improvements in our software products.
Responsibilities:
  1. Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and strategies for new features and releases. Develop comprehensive test plans and ensure alignment with project timelines and goals.
  2. Test Execution: Conduct various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate software functionality, usability, and performance across multiple platforms and devices.
  3. Defect Management: Identify, prioritize, and track software defects using issue tracking systems. Work closely with development teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  4. Automation: Drive the implementation of test automation frameworks and tools to increase efficiency and test coverage. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for regression testing and continuous integration pipelines.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate test results, provide feedback on product quality, and advocate for best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for process improvement and optimization in the software development lifecycle. Recommend and implement strategies to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and practices.
  7. Client-Server Interaction Validation: Utilize tools such as Charles Proxy to monitor and validate client-server interactions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data transmission across different components of the SiriusXM platform. Collaborate with network engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API calls, HTTP requests, and data payloads, ensuring seamless communication between client applications and backend services.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience in Android application development and testing, including familiarity with Android Studio, Android SDK, and debugging tools.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and Android Development is a plus
