JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Tier 4 ACC Engineer is the top-level support tier in the ACC for a
complex global network. Focus area of this position is primarily on
WAN infrastructure but the candidate is expected to have additional
general strengths with LAN/MAN based Cisco & Juniper routing and
switching, Palo Alto firewalls, Arista switches, and Cisco and Aruba
wireless technologies. The responsibilities of this position often
exist in engineering or architecture teams. This position will partner
with those teams to ensure seamless integration into the production
environment and the support structure. This function will be engaged
at times to participate in incidents that have exceeded the ability of
Tier 3 to resolve. The scope of this position spans the data network,
wireless devices and numerous applications. A strong understanding of
monitoring tools and techniques is required.
Resolve operational issues escalated from Tier 2 and ensure
documentation and training occurs to ensure Tier 2 and Tier 3
resolution on the next occurrence.
Mentor Tier 2 and Tier 3 staff on event handling & response.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assure operational readiness in the ACC for new projects and devices
being added to the network.
• Provide hands on support for a variety of networking technologies
including IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE and NX-OS based systems, including a
variety of Telco circuit technologies and related termination devices.
• Extensive support of routing protocols/technologies such EIGRP, BGP,
IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS VPN, IPSec VPNs, VRF's, Multicast, Spanning Tree,
and QoS.
• Heavy experience supporting carrier circuits and related termination
equipment including Metro-E, 10/20/50/100G, GIG E, 10 GIG E.
• Support of Wireless infrastructure including Cisco 8510, Cisco 5508,
Aruba Airwave, Aruba Controller, Cisco Prime, Cisco 9800/DNAC/SDWAN,
802.11 a/g/n/ac, Evertz Mux and Cisco DWDM technology.
• Execute and analyze packet captures using Netscout, Wireshark and
other related technologies.
• Identify, recommend, and implement changes to documentation
standards used in the ACC.
• Routinely mentor junior staff in areas of process, technology,
execution, and other areas.
• Perform or participate in complex maintenance or deployment activities.
• Create or modify documentation in response to new events and learning's.
• Routinely provide constructive feedback for improvement opportunities.
Education/Experience:
• Three or more of the following certifications strongly preferred
CCIE, RCSP, CCDP, ACSP, ACMP
• Experience with Network and/or application Architecture &
Engineering with expert level knowledge
• Strong expertise in EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE and
NX-OS based systems, MPLS VPN, IPSec VPN, QoS, Multicast, carrier
circuits and related termination equipment
• Solid background in common network technologies including Cisco
Nexus, F5 LTM & GTM, Juniper & Palo Alto firewalls
• Background in data center technologies such as: Cisco HSRP, Cisco
VRF Lite, Cisco VPC, Cisco LACP, Cisco Fabric Path, Zone Security,
VxLan
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP network routing and switching
• Expert knowledge of packet capture methodologies, tools and analysis
• Strong understanding of application communication methodologies
• 10 years or more combined experience in operational and engineering roles
• High level of confidence and competence communicating on bridges
• Familiarity and/or experience with Splunk, Forward Networks, DNAC,
SevOne, Service Now, or comparable incident management tool, Change
Management methodologies and control processes methodologies, support
of hybrid MS and Apple environments, baseline cloud terminology for
AWS/GCP/Azure, MCN.
