Responsibilities:
Delivery Role:
• Develop and execute comprehensive migration plans for Oracle Database including assessments.
• Relational database management systems with an emphasis on Oracle and PostgreSQL including database clustering and replication capabilities for disaster recovery.
• Build / Configure / Install Databases and Migrate the existing databases.
• SQL and query optimization techniques with demonstrated ability to diagnose as well as prevent potential performance problems.
• Migrations to NoSQL solutions (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB) as well as in-memory databases at scale (e.g. Redis, Memcached, CouchDB).
• Performance monitoring, tuning and re-indexing activities to systematically improve database performance.
• Database design, data definition language management and data migration strategies for relational database engines.
• Automation of infrastructure delivery with configuration orchestration and management solutions (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Understanding of coding practices and developing in a preferred scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Python, UNIX Shell Scripting).
• Incident triage including scope determination, impact assessment and service restoration.
• Data resiliency activities focused on backup/recovery and data management tasks.
• Use of extraction, transformation and loading tools for data synchronization processes for analytical purposes to warehousing solutions as well as in a migration capacity to new database instances.
