Job Title: Azure VDI Consultant

Location: Princeton, NJ (Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end VDI solutions based on business requirements, including infrastructure design, virtual desktop provisioning, network configuration, and user access policies.

• Lead the implementation of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions, including deploying host pools, managing images, configuring user profiles, and integrating with Azure services.

• Evaluate and optimize VDI infrastructure components for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, including virtualization platforms, storage systems, and networking infrastructure.

• Implement security best practices and compliance standards for VDI environments, including data encryption, access controls, endpoint protection, and audit logging.

• Continuously improve the user experience by optimizing desktop performance, application delivery, and remote access capabilities.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VDI-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems and minimize downtime.

• Create technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for VDI administrators and end-users.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and implementing VDI solutions, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) implementation.

• Proficiency in VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

• Strong understanding of Azure services, particularly Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Active Directory, and Azure networking.

• Experience with scripting and automation tools for VDI deployment and management (PowerShell, ARM templates, etc.).

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant professional training are a plus

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server) and desktop management tools (Group Policy, Intune, SCCM).

• Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude towards achieving project goals.
