Load & Performance Test Engineer
Work location: Denver, CO

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manual Testing (2), Performance Testing (5), JMeter (5), AWS (3), Test
Scripting (4)

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science.
2. Expertise in Performance Testing Tools such as Jmeter, LoadRunner,
Gatling or similar.
3. 8-10 years of Proven experience in Performance Testing and Engineering
4. Excellent Understanding of application architectures and
performance testing techniques
5. Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle multiple
projects simultaneously.
6. Strong communication Skills to convey technical information to
technical/ non-technical audiences.

Skill Set:
1. Testing Knowledge: Understand software testing principles,
methodologies, and types, especially performance testing concepts.
2. Programming: Proficiency in programming languages like Java,
Python, or others.
3. Load Testing Tools: Familiarity with load testing tools like
JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or other.
4. Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of monitoring tools like DataDog,
Nagios, New Relic to collect performance metrics.
5. Performance Metrics: Understand key performance metrics such as
response time, throughput, error rate, and resource utilization.
6. Test Planning: The ability to create detailed test plans, including
scenarios, objectives, and success criteria.
7. Test Execution: Experience in executing performance test strategy,
including load, endurance, and scalability.
8. Scripting Skills: Proficiency in creating and maintaining test
scripts to simulate user interactions.
9. Data Analysis: Analytical skills to interpret test results and
identify performance bottlenecks.
10. Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and debug performance issues
in applications and infrastructure.
11. Resource Monitoring: Understanding of server and network resources
and how to monitor them during testing.
12. Database Knowledge: Familiarity with database systems and their
impact on software performance.
13. Collaboration: Good communication and teamwork skills to
collaborate with developers, QA teams, and stakeholders.
14. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
Understanding of how performance testing fits into CI/CD pipelines.
This is one of our roadmap items.
15. Security Awareness: Awareness of security implications during
performance testing. Retrospective from our NBOP latest updates.
16. Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure,
or GCP for scalable testing environments.
17. Script Version Control: Knowledge of version control systems like
Git to manage test scripts.
18. Client-Server Architecture: Understanding of client-server
architecture and how it impacts performance.
19. Documentation: The ability to create clear and concise reports and
documentation of test results and findings.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Develop Test plans, test cases.
2. Execute Performance Tests (load, endurance) using tools like Jmeter.
3. Monitoring using tools like Datadog, Dynatrace and analyze
performance metrics such as Response Times, Throughput and Resource
Utilization.
4. Report right bottlenecks for performance optimization.
5. Collaborate with Dev, cross functional teams, and integrate
Performance Testing into the Agile Release Train for Software Delivery
Life Cycle.
6. Provide clear and concise Reporting for Performance Testing results
making recommendation for improvements.
7. Stay current with industry trends and technologies in performance
testing. Share knowledge within the team.
