Role: Linux/Database Engineer with Healthcare
Location: Bronx, NY (Onsite)
Duration: Long term
New Update: Need someone who worked in healthcare domain, specially with epic software.
Note: non locals fine as long as they relocate, this is 5 days a week onsite role
Role Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c). |
2. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct. |
3. Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion. |
4. Demonstrates the standards of performance and behaviors consistent with the DRIVE to Patient-Centered Excellence. |
5. Participates in training offered on assigned applications, develop expert understanding of application functionality. |
6. Serves as liaison with user departments in resolving system/database issues. |
7. Evaluates problem situations in depth, arrives at independent conclusions and coordinates problem resolution for issues related to information systems use and implementation |
8. Assists in the development of testing scenarios to assure the functionality and integrity of system enhancements and upgrades. |
9. Provides on-going analysis, maintenance, and technical / functional support for information systems throughout the organization. Identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions. Independently comes to conclusions and implements corrective action. |
10. Participates in software migration and upgrade process. |
11. Assist with the development of downtime procedures for computerized applications and evaluate the effectiveness to assure that hospital remains functional during times when applications are not available for use. |
12. Remains abreast of new developments in the area of healthcare, healthcare information systems and staff education by participating in continuing education programs, conferences and by review of literature and periodicals. |

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in CIS, or Equivalent Work Experience
- License/Certification/Registration(s) Required
- None
- Experience/Skills Required
- Preferred: Experience writing and analyzing SQL queries – MS SQL, Oracle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical partners
