Role: Senior Java Back end Developer
Location: New York City, NY (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ months contract
Interviews: MS Team

Job Description:

• 10+ years of experience required.
• We're looking for a true backend engineer. During earlier interviews a good portion of the candidates leaned towards front end development. That's a fine additional skill to have, but not our primary focus.
• They should have extensive experience with core Java, at least version 8.
• We're using version 11, but I would expect at least 8.
• Integration and unit testing skills are important, being able to design and implement test scenarios that properly exercise the code.
• Experience with a distributed architecture is a plus, as is having to handle integration between disparate systems.
• The candidate should have strong knowledge of sql and relational databases, experience with PostgreSQL is a plus but necessary.
• However I would expect Oracle or MySQL.
• They should be able to write complex queries and have a good understanding of writing database functions/procedures.
• Knowing the AWS ecosystem would be an added benefit (especially Lambdas and SQS), but isn't necessary.
• The candidate must possess excellent analytical skills.
• Requirements will need to be fully examined and any potential gaps identified and questioned.

Skills: Java, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, SQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/MYSQL, AWS/Lambda/SQS.
