Position - Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:
This manufacturing engineering position will be supporting instrumentation projects within our Client's product line in a professional and efficient manner. This role will be responsible for process development, process feasibility, Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A), process and product characterization, process risk management, process verification & validation, and establish a stable process for new product development of surgical instruments.
Qualifications / Must Have:
• BS Degree in an Engineering or Associates in technical discipline (Engineering, drafting/3D modelling, machining, welding, metal fabrication, etc.)
• Any Hands-on manufacturing experience in a Foundry (preferred) or machine shop, metal fabrication, plastic injection, etc. (Co-Op or Internship qualifies as experience)
• 3 years Plus experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Strong technical communication skills to work with both internal and external engineers and professional staff.
• Able to coordinate with mentors, multifaceted teams, and production operators/leads to facilitate project deliverables.
• Experience with and ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment such as belt grinders, cut off saws, media blast equipment, pneumatic hand tools, wax/plastic injection presses, etc.
• Product inspection experience with hard gaging, hand measurement tools (callipers, drop sticks, etc.) or CMM.
• Able to ensure/maintain compliance with all FDA, ISO, quality, safety, and environmental regulations
• Proficient with Microsoft software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Etc.
Qualifications / Nice to Have:
• Experience with CAD software, 3D modelling and drafting (UG/NX preferred)
• BS in Engineering (Manufacturing & Mechanical preferred)
• Experience in Machining of Castings or wrought metal
• Experience in ceramics and ceramic material
• Investment Casting or Plastic Injection manufacturing experience
• Medical device or other highly regulated industry experience (Aerospace, Automotive, etc.)
• Proficient in interpreting/using GD&T drawings/blueprints
• Statistical analysis (Mini Tab) experience
• Experience running a CMM or other dimensional inspection equipment
• Experience with precision grinding, belting, polishing of metal components
• Additive/3D Printing Experience
• 6 axis or equivalent robot operation or programing experience
• Familiar with Production Machine, Product and or Process Validations (IQ / OQ / PQ)
• Previous experience with new product launches or product transfers projects
Education
