NX Product Design Engineer
Sunnyvale CA-Onsite
Experience level:: 5-8 Years experience only
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
- Leverage external teams (CM/JDM/Vendors) to maximize the focus of our internal resources on adding value and differentiation to our products
- Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Working knowledge in 3D modeling and drafting
- NX/Team Center experience for PLM
- 3-5 years of industry experience in mechanical design
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Testing and analysis experience
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD
- Experience designing/integrating subsystems in partnership with specialized teams such a Wireless, Display, Optics, Cameras, Sensors, Audio, etc. 3-5 years of product design and development
- experience of handheld and/or wearable electronics for high volume manufacturing, including full systems ownership
Desired Skills:
- Experience designing for human factors
- Experience with products requiring cosmetic surface treatments and interfacing with industrial design teams
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
