Job Description
· At high level, we are looking for a Kubernetes admin with development experience.
· We are looking for someone with Kubernetes experience who can help us manage the existing Kubernetes cluster and setup disaster recovery, etc.,
· We prefer this candidate to have Python exposure to automate some of the workloads when managing the cluster.
· Kubernetes is an open-source platform for managing IT systems and services.
· As a Kubernetes administrator some of the responsibilities will involve designing and implementing solutions to leverage a Kubernetes cluster, configuring hardware, peripherals, and services, managing settings and storage, deploying cloud-native applications, and monitoring and supporting a Kubernetes environment.
· You also undertake duties like researching opportunities for automation, troubleshooting issues as reported by users, and mentoring team members in best practices.
· You will often collaborate with other members of the IT Ops team to promote security, efficiency, and scalability of core services and capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
· We are looking for someone with good hands-on experience as they will be developing frameworks to be used by teams across the entire organization
· Writing scalable code using Kubernetes programming language
· Designing and implementing solutions to leverage a Kubernetes cluster
· Configuring hardware, peripherals, and services, managing settings and storage
· Deploying, monitoring, and supporting applications in a Kubernetes environment
· Researching opportunities for automation, troubleshooting issues as reported by users
· Work with our Internal IT teams (incl Risk, Security and Compliance) for guidance and expertise on related matters in a Kubernetes environment for deploying and configuring which include but is not limited to monitoring, alerting, logging, performance analysis, configuration tuning, replication, high availability, disaster recovery, benchmarking, and user experience
· Document solutions, architectural patterns, and best practices around the Kubernetes environment, to ensure that support, developers, and end users have guidance and insight as needed
· Participate in 24x7 support escalation coverage as a Kubernetes subject-matter expert
Experience
· 5 years Production Kubernetes Experience
· Experience with building Kubernetes Operators
· Highly experienced with Docker & Containers
· Linux Administration and Support
· General cloud architecture experience on AWS
· DevOps Environment Experience
· Strong experience with Windows, Linux, or Unix system administration, as well as solid skills with orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.
· Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases and basic coding skills in Java, JavaScript, PHP, or a similar language are all desirable, as is experience with micro services architectures.
