Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with X-ray product software and own a component, feature or a feature set
- Take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver, while mentoring and helping team members
- Work cross functionally with other teams and contribute to design discussions
- Take initiative and to explore alternate technologies and approaches to solving problems
- Apply principles of SDLC, Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration
- Seek opportunities to automate and continuously improve software components
- Perform software troubleshooting and investigations of components and features
- Continuously expand technical knowledge, keep abreast of emerging software technologies and apply them to the product software
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development
- Proven hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages, primarily C++
- Skilled in core data structures and algorithms
- Experience working on Linux based platforms
- Working knowledge in configuration management tools
- Strong analytical skills, and experience in software development lifecycle
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Waukesha, WI
Desired Characteristics:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of software development experience with C++
- Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for a project.
- Experience working in complex software development projects
- Strong oral, written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Adapt to new environments, changing requirements and pivots quickly as needed
- Identify opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas.
- Takes initiative to experiment with new software frameworks
