**Working hours will have a 37.5-hour work week.

Job Description:
  • Candidate or their vendor is required to report onsite at the start and the end of the contract to inventory and confirm the condition of the client's issued equipment.
  • The client will not send or accept equipment through the mail.
  • Overtime is not permitted without prior permission from the client, Tom Diecidue.
  • This position will support the client called Talisman.
  • The Talisman system is a comprehensive, enterprise level system designed to help regulatory personnel and laboratories track all accreditation information.
  • The system captures and reports current accreditation, accreditation history, assessment information, proficiency testing data, and laboratory documents.
  • The system is designed to help solve the challenges of data entry and document management facing laboratories and accreditation bodies across thethe client.
  • Talisman is developed using Spring and Spring MVC frameworks for an annotation-based model-view-controller architecture.
  • The system performs validations with Spring validator and includes various regular expressions.
  • Mybatis 3.22 which uses XMLwrapped SQL statements are used as a data layer to communicate with backend database Oracle 12C.
  • Log4j is used for the logging purposes.
  • JQuery and HTML5 have been used in the front end.
  • The system is deployed on oracle WebLogic server.
  • Third party free open source tools Itextpdf has been used to generate pdf reports whereas Freemarker Velocity has been used to handle mail mergers in Talisman.
  • It is a Java 1.6.0_024 application, but the application will be upgraded to Java 1.8 in the next year and a half.
  • New technologies and upgraded components will be introduced as part of that effort and support will be required for these as well.
  • Delivers support for the mission critical Talisman application for the Bureau of Labs.
  • Provides effective on-site product support 2 days a week and additional time on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for leading development efforts related to products/services that involve significant client oversight and customer interaction.
  • Interacts with executive level business users or technical experts daily.
  • Must provide weekly status updates to team manager or other DEP managers.
  • Communicates accurate and useful status updates for work in progress as requested.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and spoken.
  • Anticipates, identifies, tracks, and resolves issues, risks, action items affecting own work.
  • Provides full life cycle product support to include:
  • Provide accurate and complete answers to detailed product questions in a timely manner as they arise.
  • Identifies appropriate business examples to illustrate key concepts / features when interacting with the customer.
  • Production issues and tickets as they arise o Enhancements and modifications to the application to meet the customers' needs
  • Responsible for collaborating with other technical resources to support the Talisman application.
  • Aid in production deployments of systems as needed.
  • Strong analytical and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to synthesize/understand customer requirements and create effective user stories and overall design approach.
  • Provides accurate estimates for design and programming efforts for system changes and enhancements. Determines time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner. Coordinates and participates in design reviews to verify that design meets quality standards and functional/technical requirements.
  • Applies specific expertise to ensure that products meet defined customer objectives.
  • Confirms that technical architecture will support all changes required by product enhancements. Documents all work for future reference.
  • Provides training and / or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design changes.
  • Develops appropriate functional and usability standards for products o Develops user guides
  • Effectively leads product tests and trials.
  • Reviews the system test approach and conditions used as the basis for detailed test scenarios.
  • Follows quality standards and complies with CEDC development processes and metrics.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Develops contingency plans as necessary.
  • Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Skills:
  • Experience in a relevant IT related field
  • Spring usage
  • JSTL tag libraries
  • Experience with Oracle 11G-12C database
  • Experience using connector tools such as Mybatis 3.22
  • Experience with XML/XSLT/FO
  • Experience in Freemarker Velocity or similar mail merger software
  • Experience with Log4j or similar logging tool
  • Experience with JDeveloper 11.1.2 and 12.2.1
  • Experience with Spring Web MVC
  • Experience with PL/SQL
  • Experience with Hibernate Validator
  • Experience with JQuery
  • Experience with Java 1.6 or Java 1.8
  • Experience with VSTS, GIT, and WebLogic Application Server
  • Experience with Gson, Soup,Xdocreport, Itxpdf, and Poi
  • Experience with Model-View-Controller design pattern,
  • Dependency Injection, and Inversion of control
