JOB DESCRIPTION
Qlik Sense BI Developer / Visual Analytics Consultant
Years of experience: 5+

Skillsets Required:
Domain 1: Perform Discovery and Determine Scope
Analyze data via SQL queries to assess structure, granularity, quality, and fit for analytics.
Gather, document, and validate detailed business requirements.
Brainstorm, define, and document innovative, actionable analytics and KPIs.
Prepare high-level project plans including required activities, resources, and timeframes.
Given a scenario, recommend the appropriate analytics delivery method.
Know and understand how and when to recommend Qlik platform, mobile, and Embedded Analytics options.

Domain 2: Plan, Connect to Data and ETL

Plan
• Plan and implement Qlik Sense connections to data sources, particularly Cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, Google Cloud SQL, and Azure SQL.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to prepare efficient data sets aligned with requirements.
• Create views and aggregate data sets within Cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake & Redshift.

Connect to Data
• Identify and connect to data source and change settings.
• Extract data from various sources by creating and fine-tuning queries.
• Differentiate Direct Discovery vs In-memory Data and use it based on the requirement.
• Determine the right granularity of data to be pulled based on the requirement.

ETL
• Extract data from multiple heterogenous data sources and create a data model that meets the required performance standards.
• Recommend an efficient calculation method – via Qlik or Data Warehouse.
• Resolve synthetic keys / tables in the data model.
• Incrementally source data to minimize the data-refresh time.
• Create Date Calendars as needed.
• Resolve inconsistencies, unexpected or null values, data quality issues and apply user-friendly value replacements.

Domain 3: Design Dashboards and Develop Visualizations/Reports

• Recommend and develop optimal visualizations for insightful, actionable business use.
• Design dashboards based on visual analytics best practices and business requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and iterate insightful dashboards.
• Evaluate and select appropriate design alternatives to meet client requirements and are consistent with client's current standards and processes
• Implement Set Analysis wherever needed to improve performance
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), performance testing (load times), and deployment.
• Create and manage aggregations
• Use variables storage for expressions
• Implement row-level security based on the need
• Define user-friendly Master Items for self-service

Other Expectations:
• 3-6+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced skills in SQL queries.
• Effective communications, both written and verbal.
• Data story-telling abilities and analytical curiosity.
• Good to know knowledge on creating Mashups and extensions
• Work independently under time constraints.
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.

Other Desired Qualifications:
• Qlik Sense Certifications
• Advanced degree in an analytics-related field.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Data Warehouses – e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Google, Azure.
• Python / Power Shell Scripting

Must have: Grade = C

QlikSense - Proficiency in Base Line
QlikSense - Experience ?= Less Than a Year
QlikSense - How Recent in Less than 3 Years
