Title: Full Stack Java Developer
Location: Kansas City, MO Initially Remote
Duration: Long term contract
Visa: No H1B
Job description:
· Assist NAIC (FAS team) with legacy Java application support and maintenance.
· Create or modify code, and test applications already deployed to the cloud.
· Excellent communications skills required.
· The candidate we are seeking can translate business requirements into functioning software with cursory guidance from existing teammates.
· The team has legacy backend C++ applications and even though it is not a requirement some C++/Linux experience would be a bonus.
Just for clarity: The candidate we are looking for will have strong Java, SQL, and communication skills. We are looking for an engineer that requires minimal training and can maintain our legacy applications while the remaining team members devote their cycles to new development.
High Level Technical Skills/Experience Required:
· At least 4 years of recent Oracle SQL, and Java full-stack development
· Desired frameworks: Primefaces, Webflow, Spring, Springboot, JSP, Jasper reports
Technical Skills/Experience in the following areas are a plus:
· Experience using Jira, IntelliJ, Microsoft 360, Microsoft SharePoint, Informatica
· Experience with the Agile software development process
· Strong (verbal and written) communication skills for a cross collaboration with business partners
· Experience with C/C++, Shell scripting, Linux CLI, Excel Macros, VBA, Gitlab
· Cloud application development experience (AWS experience)
· Experience with Angular 6+ and RESTful services
Day-in-the- life of your team:
· Attend daily KANBAN standups, where you and your teammates report progress or blockers
· Review Jira
· Code & test Java applications using IntelliJ, Oracle SQL, and Gitlab
· Interact with team to swam unplanned / production issues
