What You’ll Do –

· Design, construct and implement highly scalable systems, across multiple platform types.

· Implement and support highly scalable systems to support eCommerce or Digital Customer Experience

· Hands-on engineering responsibilities (build, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, deployment, and performance tuning & optimization). Document the procedures/instructions for other team members to follow.

· Assist in troubleshooting production support issues and be available as needed.

· Collaborate with Architecture, eCommerce Engineering and Support, Project Managers, and other Business/IT teams in finding solutions to meet business needs.

· Creating automated unit tests, contract tests, integration tests, load tests using Junit, rest-assured, Postman, JMeter where required.

· Identify opportunities and develop scripts to automate the tasks where possible to minimize the manual work and to produce high quality and consistent work.

· Diagnose, isolate and debug problems and performs problem resolution.

· Assess technical risks, provide options, recommendations and strategy to mitigate risks.

· Providing guidance and assistance to peers and other team members in related job functions

· Adhere to standard processes and procedures.

What You Know –

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years of experience in the Information Technology Industry

· 8+ years of hands-on programming and integration experience (Java, J2EE/Spring, Springboot, Micro Services, REST APIs)

· Significant experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is required.

· Experience in No-SQL is strongly preferred.

· Experience in Microsoft Azure, Pivotal, DevOps, and CI/CD tools and processes is strongly preferred.

· Experience in high-performance and high-frequency data streaming (using Kafka etc.)

· Experience in the e-commerce domains is a plus.

· Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices.

· Design and develop applications with an eye towards simplicity, reliability, manageability, scalability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.

· Strong emphasis on Testing, Quality, and Automation

· Strong ability to decompose a broad level business requirement into technical implementation.

· Ability to mentor and guide development team members.

· Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.

· Strong experience building consumer-facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud.

· Deep knowledge of scalability, security, and maintainability of high-volume Internet applications

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Ability to communicate and drive highly complex technology solutions to broad audiences within and outside of IT.

· Ability to define solutions from very high-level business ideas.

· Ability to work independently.

Lead Java Software Engineer/Sr Java Developer -W1475

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

Analyze, design, develop, and own the software project implementations and enhancements for products used in different functional and technical domains. Leverage current programming languages and technologies to design, develop, unit test and support the testing of the applications. Complete documentation and procedures for configuration and production support maintenance. Java experience required.

What You’ll Do –

· Assist Product Managers in designing and defining new features

· Work with Architecture to craft technical designs and drive the evolution of our site architecture

· Write code that is of high quality and consistent with our coding standards

· Write automated tests of new features to ensure they are of very high quality

· Work with other lead engineers and architects in crafting technical designs

· Review the work of other engineers in a collegial fashion to ensure the work product is of high quality and consistent with our standards

· Participate in, and potentially lead, Communities-of-Practice in those technologies in which you have an interest

· Participate in continuous education programs to grow your skills both technically and in the Williams-Sonoma business domain

· Serve as a member of a Scrum team and participate in all planning, stand-up, and retrospective meetings Requirements

· 8+ years of experience as a professional software engineer

· 4-6 years experience Java and web technologies

· An understanding of software development best practices

· Enthusiasm for constant improvement as a Software Engineer

· Ability to contribute to, review and understand proposed designs and offer thoughtful feedback

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

What You Know –

· Experienced using java8,

· Springboot.

· Restful services, Kubernetes, oracle database knowledge, Maven, Git, Junit mocking frameworks, Mockito or other skills are required.

· microservice, Perl, Python is nice to have.

· AEM 6.0 or later nice to have

· Content management experience is nice to have

Education –

· 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
