Job Description:
The person in this position will be primarily responsible for providing production, operations support and application administration to HCL Client Business and Web Applications, 3rd party applications and related eco system. A major part of the assignment will be participation in 24x7 support functions and helpdesk operations. The application environment though mixed is primarily based on Microsoft technologies. Among the environments which will be supported are intranet and extranet applications, 3rd party product platforms, and our numerous Intranet Portals. Day to day responsibilities include working on all types of production support activities, attending help requests, installations, configurations, debugging, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, working on application design and deployment projects, change management and monitoring.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• 3 or more years of strong experience as an application support administrator, primarily in a Microsoft oriented IT environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge of n-Tiered Microsoft platforms and application architectures.
• Strong experience and Web Server Knowledge - IIS7.5, IIS6, IIS5, Apache web server
• Work experience in supporting ASP/.Net based applications (custom developed and off-the-shelf systems)
• Keen understanding of the Windows operating system and some experience with Linux OS will be good as well.
• Good understanding of common network protocols (HTTP, FTP) and SSL.
• Experience in application security
• Experience and ability to reverse engineer systems for troubleshooting. Application, Database and Operating System debugging is a must.
• Thorough understanding of monitoring systems and monitoring methodology. Experience in using Sitescope is a plus
• Effective written and oral communication skills (must be able to articulate technical designs, strategies, and problems to management)
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience in using different testing tools
• A strong team player, self-motivated, self-starter and with a great “get it done” work attitude
