One of Caterpillar"s major strategic initiatives is "Network Transformation". This initiative is focused on upgrading routers/switches/controllers in an effort to standardize and secure Caterpillar"s enterprise network (400+ sites).
Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Cisco professional. This position requires a advanced knowledge of route/switch, wireless, Cisco and third-party security products. Candidates seeking this role will take on the responsibility of managing and securing the environment and will implement LAN and WLAN security using ISE. All facets of this role will regularly collaborate with other regional experts and will require excellent communication skills.
Candidate Responsibilities
. LAN Network Access Control (NAC) implementation and operations supporting Caterpillar, global deployment of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)in office and manufacturing facilities. Travel is not required. Successful candidate will work closely with the regional and global team and take direction from the ISE Technical Designer to deliver high quality Cisco ISE deployment and support services.
Typical Day
Working directly on ISE application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions; Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components; Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure; Implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in security, development and support; Adherence to Technology controls and security protocols; Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems.
Education Requirements:
Computer-related or Engineering-related four-year College or University Degree OR three to six years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
Technical Skills
. Practical functional experience troubleshooting, implementing and supporting Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) n a medium to large business; LAN implementation and support, practical knowledge, VLANs, and switching configuration; Experience with Service Center tools (ServiceNow); Relevant work experience with medium to large companies
