Software Test Architect
12 months Contract
Currently its remote later onsite at Dallas TX OR Atlanta GA
Role Description
Technical Test Architect of an agile team actively participates in on various aspects of software development, integration and testing in a continuous delivery environment. Responsible for determining a strategy for agile testing in integrated and virtualized testing environment, coach various technical teams on all aspects of software development, development integration and quality testing throughout projects lifecycle (Scoping, Design, Development and Testing). Ensure the team reaches high level of testing coverage on their deliverables and meets business and technical goals by leveraging development and testing experience, industry knowledge and best practices.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in requirements grooming sessions and understand the business and technical feature documents and the solutions being proposed. Analyse the impact on testing and help identify design gaps in early stages of the lifecycle
- Work with enterprise and solution architects to understand features interdependencies and technical integrations between multiple release trains that lead to enterprise release
- Actively participate in PI planning sessions and work with Product owners to implement quality checks during SCRUM development
- Plans, design, and leads test solutions. Collaborates with multiple teams in business and technology to devise test strategy and plans, test designs and automation to build testability and quality into products.
- Influence development priority for features through quality lead development approach
- Prepare & Publish a draft version of test design that includes traceability between features and the test scenarios
- Promote design reusability across the lifecycle.
- Work with automation experts to select right candidates to automate
- Evaluate and outline non-functional impact on online and batch components
- Highlight the test data dependencies required for test execution and work proactively to provision test data
- Review detail design, feature and feature groups with testers and clarify their doubts.
- Schedule knowledge sharing session to go over test design with E2E team
- Answer tester questions and provide clarification on design during execution.
- Engage with execution team to transition the knowledge and achieve better quality.
- Be and active participant in change control meetings and assess impact on testing delivery
- Strengthen test architecture by incorporating production feedback
- Build improvement plans on weak areas and execute them with the teams
Critical Experiences
• Has experience in multiple software environments and is comfortable with complex heterogeneous system environments.
• Good understanding of system design and architecture
• Good understanding on TDD and BDD practices
• Experience with Model based design approach
• ~10 years' experience in SW testing/ Product Development Lifecycle.
• Superior knowledge and experience in functional/ NF testing technologies and tools.
• Experience in creating system test strategy and solutions.
• In depth and broad experience/ knowledge in telecommunication- advantage.
• In depth knowledge of business and products and testing methodology - advantage.
• Experience in stakeholder management.
