Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data warehouse solutions for complex business processes using Google-internal tools and technologies.
- Work closely with business users and various platform, application and support teams to deliver reporting solutions.
- Develop, test and deploy new data pipelines (ETL) to support Google's requirements.
- Support existing data pipelines. Troubleshoot and fix production issues; implement enhancements in existing data pipelines and reports.
- Create project specific artifacts such as technical design documents, source to target transformation mapping docs, data dictionary, data flow diagrams etc.
- Build reports and dashboards to support business critical decision making.
- Own specific project areas and take proactive measures to maintain the health of the overall system.
- Work closely with other members in the team to contribute to the improvement of the broader reporting landscape.
Qualifications:
- 10+ yrs of experience in architecting and implementing full scale data warehouse systems
- Experience working with Web-scale databases, Columnar or NoSQL technologies
- Master level knowledge of SQL
- Extensive hands-on experience in implementing data pipelines using ETL tools such as Pentaho Kettle (preferable), Informatica, IBM datastage etc
- Strong hands-on experience in building reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau etc
- Experience with at least a programming language (Java, or Python).
