Job Description:      
Seeking a Senior Java Developer for its Wealth Management technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Serves as the primary point of contact on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance team members. Applies specialized business knowledge and technical skills to significant deliverables and projects that involve multiple IT departments, business units and have enterprise impact. Makes judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data. Handles complex problems independently and demonstrates analytical thinking.  Although the role is primarily based out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL or in our Denver, CO office, we are also open to considering candidates that are based out of other locations in the US.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyzes complex system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between impacted components and sub systems.
• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or to reuse of existing code.
• Leads or participates in assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
• May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities. Remains current with new technologies.
• Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
• Participates in software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.
• Provides technical advice and assists in solving programming problems.
• Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
• Assists in preparing project plans using project management tools.
• Reviews test results; documents test activities, and records remedial actions.
• Ensures proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant development or engineering experience or combination of education, training and experience.
• Five (5) years of full stack development experience in JavaJ2EE with working knowledge of Spring, ORM (Hibernate preferred), Spring Boot, cache implementations.
• Five (5) years of experience writing Database queries in PL/SQL, Functions, on Oracle.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, Python, and Containers is a plus.
• Experience in Distributed Architectures, strong OO background, Distributed Caching and Messaging paradigms
• Experience in Micro-services architecture
• Experienced working with SQL Server and Oracle databases (creating DDL and writing/tuning SQL queries)
• Experience working with SCRUM oriented Agile methodologies and Project Management.
• Experience in writing clean, scalable code using good architectural patterns, experience in performance optimization – concurrent programming, memory management, JVM tuning etc.
• Experience with development project management tools: Maven, Gradle, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Java programming language and knowledge of following technologies/frameworks: SpringSpring Data, Spring Boot, AspectJ, Spring JDBC templates, Spring caching, Spring Scheduler, JAX-RS, JMS, web based application servers
• Experience with TDD: Unit tests and Integration tests – using Junit and Mockito
• Good understanding of UML design: Sequence Diagrams, Flow Diagrams, etc.
• Good knowledge of DevOps & collaboration tools: JenkinsGIT, Jira or TFS, SonarQube
• Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs/Protocols (RESTSOAP)
• Experience with Java Script/Angular JS
• Experience in the following areas: enterprise implementation, leadership experience, strategic planning, application development, change management.

Competencies:
• Ability to understand and link complex business requirements, and translate to technical implementations; and vice-versa i.e. translate technical jargon to business users' terminology.
• Ability to work and deliver on multiple projects with linked capabilities.
• Lead smaller and specific deliverable functionality under a larger program.
• Work as a team-player, including with project partners - Business, QA, Analysts
