| Job Description | : | Write code using statistical (i.e., SAS or R) programs to link surveillance and research data to a variety of other data sources including birth defect study data, birth and death certificate data and census data. 1.6.2 Prepare and create data files for the Georgia Study to Explore Early Development (GA SEED) participants. 1.6.3 Manipulate data and transform data through code (such as SAS, R, SQL, or Excel macro languages) - i.e., subset data files, manipulating data from "wide" to "long" format, re-coding variables. 1.6.4 Prepare data files before linkage (i.e., perform data cleaning steps as needed), develop appropriate linkage strategies (deterministic vs. probabilistic), and perform post-hoc analyses to validate linkage results and identify additional data cleaning needs. Create extensive variable mapping documents and data dictionaries, which are used by scientific staff and statisticians during data analysis. 1.6.5 Develop and maintain application programs on the microcomputer platforms that are used to manipulate data files, perform data verification routines, perform data linkages, and produce end user reports. |
