As you know, the majority of clients are not hiring at the moment, however, my client is actively interviewing (remotely of course) and is making arrangements for on-boarding of our new hires.

Title: Capital Markets Applications Engineer (Application support)
Position Type: Full Time

Description:
The Capital Markets Applications Engineer is accountable and responsible for performing application management services (administration, maintenance, and support) of financial applications within the Capital Markets Domain. Applications within that domain include but are not limited to:
• Pershing
• Envestnet
• PSPlus
• Opics
• Calyso
• Bloomberg
Key activities are as follows:
• Administering and configuring software.
• Adhering to change management best practices.
• Triaging problems with applications - identifying known errors and problem trends and finding permanent solutions through root cause analysis.
• Providing level 2 and 3 application support.
The resource must also be able to communicate technical information accurately and imagine, conceptualize, and articulate current and future state environments. The applications engineer needs to be proficient in the application that he/she is administering to be able to facilitate strategic and tactical initiatives. Adaptability and flexibility in supporting evolving organizational needs is paramount.
Minimum requirements include:
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Adaptability and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to assess problems and research solutions.
• Proactively solve problems using automation where possible.
• Strong analyzing and problem-solving skills for financial system support.
• Keen awareness of system vulnerabilities.
• Understanding of SWAPS, bonds, floating rates, LIBOR, SOFR
• Familiarity with programming languages a plus (Java, C#.NET, APEX, PowerShell, PERL, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
a PLUS?
• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, relational databases (Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases), WebSphere Application Server, IIS, IBM MQ, Business Objects, .Net and Java applications, FIX protocol is a plus.
• Experienced with 24x7 support
• Good understanding of the technical fundamentals of the Internet. Resource should have sufficient knowledge of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SFTP, DNS as well as the ability to use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Familiar with ETL (data hubs, data lakes, data warehouses)
• Understanding of API, REST
• Experience with Azure framework and associated technologies
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Capable of administrating and managing SaaS applications.
