Title: Senior Architect/Java Developer
Location: NYC/Remote hybrid
Type: Full-time
Major Responsibilities:
- Chair of Design Authority Committee (DAC) – committee chair oversees design decisions, software tooling choices and innovation recommendations across various development technology stacks. I.e. Python, Java, .NET, Puppet, Database, Powershell.
- Java development for real-time messaging based corporate applications
- Lead and coordinate proof of concept (POC) based initiatives for enterprise level platforms (i.e. messaging, persistence stores, 3rd party products, shared libraries, etc.)
- Participate in the improvement of our DevOps initiatives
Skills:
- 10+ years - Enterprise Integration Pattern based development (i.e. Camel frameworks)
- 10+ years - Active MQ and/or Kafka Messaging
- 10+ years - Java Development. Must be an active, hand-on developer
- 5+ years - SQL Server based development
- 5+ years - DevOps experience
- Strong architectural and design skills (i.e. Cloud certification, OCMJEA or equivalent)
- Comfortable discussing enterprise level services independent of technology stack
- Test Driven Development (TDD) oriented
- Comfortable working in an Agile Scrum environment
- Experience with Cloud based data architectures, messaging, analytics
- Interest in being part of a cutting-edge team, driving the technical vision for a large enterprise
- Very strong communication skills
- Mentor and guide staff members
Education:
- Minimally a BA degree within an engineering and/or computer science discipline
