This should be a senior-level, non-team lead individual contributor PL/SQL Developer
There are 10-12 subsystems with individual system leads, and this role will work with all of the leads to deep dive into any defects under minimal direction and be able to identify the issues by conducting RCA
Initially, this is a contract-only role and expected to be 6 months in duration, however the client may look to convert to full-time for the right candidate.

Job Description -
This position is for a Sr. Oracle PL/SQL Database Developer responsible for successful delivery of technology initiatives. Candidates for this role will be supporting the development and operations requirements working cohesively with other database developers/leads/subject matter experts, database administrators, architects, data quality analysts, and other teams, as well as manage client relationships within the context of an individual role.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for all aspects of backend (database) development under the guidance / direction of subject matter and technical experts in Technology functional department
• Prepare the PL/SQL Requirements and Design documents
• Participate in meetings and discussions with Functional/Technical Leads to understand the requirements and work out a design
• Interpret the requirements and build Logical and Physical Relational Data Models
• Write/maintain SQL and PL/SQL stored program units/packages and maintain coding standards. Experience in Query optimization, debugging, and performance tuning for improving performance.
• Write unit tests (document and code) for the PL/SQL stored program units/packages
• Participate in code reviews and ensure the code written complies with best practices
• Continue enhancing own PL/SQL skills on new practices, frameworks and standards
• Mentor other PL/SQL developers in enhancing their skills
• Present technical analysis to internal and external clients
• Support Production Operations as necessary
MANDATORY:
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in various aspects of database programming by using the Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Sound knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and/or related technologies that encapsulate SQL, including Triggers, Procedures, Functions, and Packages
• Experience creating database tables, views, medium to complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions
• Experience in fine-tuning SQL queries, PL/SQL programs, and improving application performance
• Understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to translate business requirements to update data models
• Experience writing technical design documentation
• Experience building applications with high availability and scalability requirements
• Experience identifying opportunities for reducing data redundancy and inconsistencies in data usage and trends
• Experience implementing database security to reduce vulnerabilities
• Experience working closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications
• Oracle 11g / 12c experience is a must
• Ability to apply innovation, creativity, and improvement to the development and support processes and to be able to support multiple priorities effectively
REQUIREMENTS:
7 + years of hands-on experience and demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of database programming and performance tuning using Oracle SQL / PL/SQL
