Devops Lead - Must be a Lead and local to NY/NJ area as this will be onsite soon.

 

Rate: $75/hr c2c or $70/hr on W2 all inclusive no benefits.

 

Job description: DevOps Lead with financial/banking background.

 

Location: New York City, NY

 

Client is looking for candidate with leadership / control and organization of staff in an IB environment (IB domain exp seems must have for the demand)

 

We are looking for an experience DevOps leader to join a highly visible client engagement. The engagement will include a team located in multiple global locations to deliver a payments hub transformation initially focused on SWIFT/RTGS, and correspondent banking transactions. It will be a plus for the candidate to have exposure to global payments including clearing such as Fedwire, CHAPS, Target2, US ACH, Etc.

 

The lead will be hands on and work with teams of engineers, coaching and helping complete tasks to progress movement to dev ops model and as lead, will drive the transformation to DevOps including owning and driving the plan to achieve target state.

 

As the team is in the very early stages with DevOps, it is important for the lead to have demonstrated ability to help guide the team from conceptual knowledge of DevOps, Agile and SDLC to function in a fully DevOps fashion, including guiding the team through the adoption of SRE, Shift to Infosec, Prod Support, and integration through to production and will be utilizing the DORA Framework.

 

Key Drivers for the role and function are efficiency and cohesiveness with a focus on payments first then expand across other areas.

 

DevOps teams have a high level of responsibility and use a wide range of technologies.

 

The Dev Ops Lead must bring technical depth and have experience in the below areas to drive best practice and support build out of global Dev Ops capability within existing teams:

 

 

• Implemented Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment • Previously led DevOps transformation projects • Experience effectively leading internal DevOps team meetings and working sessions • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles • Automation of a range of OS (Ubuntu/RedHat/CentOS/Windows/Solaris)

• Automation builds and deployments with Maven, Grunt, Gradle, Jenkins, and others • Scripting in Python, Ruby, Shell, Groovy, and JSON – estimated at 50% • Sharing your knowledge with other team members to cross pollinate skills • Deployed and maintained critical applications on cloud-native micro-services architecture • Implemented automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code • Deployed and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments • Supported and worked alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies • Iterated on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments • Sustained and improved the process of knowledge sharing throughout the engineering team • Ability test own code and team code prior to builds and interaction with test teams

 

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

 

• Evangelizing of the latest DevOps practices.

• Contributing to and using open source projects • Leading DevOps meetups • Knowledge of scripting and automating
