JOB DECRIPTION

Job Title: Azure Data Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: Long Term

Requirements

Must be American Document worker

• Spark fluency with Python programming (PySpark) – strong competency here is a must

• Prior data engineering experience building real-time pipelines

• Azure EventHubs and Kafka experience to ingest data from message queues and streams

• Thorough understanding of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL DW and Azure Key Vaults (Azure fluency)

• Experience implementing Azure Databricks best practices

• Experience working with Document DB stores (MongoDB and CosmosDB)

• Optional Power BI Experience

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or related field preferred

• Nine or more years of experience in data engineering and/or ETL

• Previously experienced in a mid- to large-size firm

• Ability to follow standards

• Understands the importance of security

• Ability to perform system and/or apps dba duties

• Ability to recognize items for continuous improvements such as optimizing queries but not limited too.

Other Qualifications:

• Provides work guidance and mentoring to less experienced personnel.

• Prepares periodic reports regarding unit activities and goal attainment progress.

• Provides input to development of vision, specifies key performance requirements and defines technical critical success factors.

• Assumes a lead role in influencing client expectations and ensuring client satisfaction in area of responsibility and related issues.

• May participate in proposal efforts and create strategies to win business in new markets or current accounts.

• Strong project planning and estimating skills related to area of expertise

• Strong communication skills

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions

• Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel

• Ability to be a high-impact player on multiple simultaneous engagements

• Ability to think strategically, balancing long and short-term priorities

• Understands the importance of security

• Ability to perform system and/or apps dba duties

• Ability to recognize items for continuous improvements such as optimizing queries but not limited too

• Experience with the Azure portal, Azure PowerShell, ARM templates, and technologies is required. Experience supporting Azure or other cloud-based solutions

• Maintaining data dictionary/data modeling

Preferable to have certifications on

• Azure Data Engineering (AZ-200 and AZ-201) and

• Azure Cloud Developer (AZ-203)
