Description:
The PL/SQL Programmer is responsible for writing stored procedures, packages, functions and triggers required by the Application Team.
Complete Description:
The PL/SQL Programmer is responsible for writing stored procedures, packages, functions and triggers required by the Application Team. Programmer typically is involved in production support, enhancement and development work. The Programmer works with the Functional Architect and Technical Architect Specialist on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Extensive expertise in PL/SQL. • Use Collections like variable arrays, nested tables. • Design, develop and maintain oracle database schemas, tables, standard views, materialized views, synonyms, unique indexes, non-unique indexes, constraints, triggers, sequences, implicit cursors, explicit cursors, cursor for loops, reference cursors and other database objects. • Experience in designing backend Oracle modules for Java applications. • Create PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions and triggers • Write complex SQL queries with sub-queries, analytical functions and inline views • Create technical specifications for junior oracle developers. • Performance tune and optimize SQLs using explain tables, TKPROF utility, by setting database parameters, by using optimizer hints and using Analyze to compute statistics on tables. • Plan all required process steps. • Review and understand the Application Team's work plan. • Provide status of work to Team Lead. • Provide expertise in one or more database environments. • Work with Functional Architects to gather and interpret user requirements into design specifications. • Determine time estimates and schedule for work. • Moderate functional and process knowledge • Assist in managing and directing Application Team processes. • Coordinate work with other software developers on Application Teams. • Assist Team Lead or Test Team Lead in monitoring estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks. • Execution of all responsibilities with little direct supervision of Team Lead. • Generally aware of new developments in industry and process and has ability to apply them to work as appropriate. • Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team. • Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Identify and track issues, risks and action items. • Problem solving using the functional and technical programming standards. • Execute all required process steps. • Utilize configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application. • Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Functional Architect for assistance. • Limited functional knowledge. • Follow quality standards. • Communicate accurate and useful status updates. • Ability to work in a team environment
 
Required:
  • PL/SQL, SQL Plus, SQL Loader
  • Oracle 12C/11G
  • System Study & Analysis
  • Database Object creation (Tables, Views, Synonyms, Procedures, Functions, Triggers
